Board certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and a licensed Clinical Psychologist (Maryland License #5665), Dr. Rickards specializes in neuropsychological assessment of neuropsychological sequelae associated with acquired brain injury including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), stroke, as well as dementias, and capacity-related assessments. Case review
Review of provided medical, personal, or other documentation pertinent background information.
Neuropsychological interview
In-person discussion with the evaluated individual, and may also include collateral information from others familiar with the individual.
Neuropsychological assessment
Includes up to several hours of test administration examining various domains of cognition, aspects of mood and personality, and performance and symptom validity. Measures are scored and integrated with background information, including the individual’s description of their experience, into a written report summarizing results. The assessment cannot be observed by others due to the potential impact on performance.
Deposition and courtroom appearance
Discussion of neuropsychological findings of the case at hand, as well as applying current understanding of typical sequelae and impact of brain injury and neuropathological conditions.
